On behalf of the directors of the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Committee of Quebec, it gives me great pleasure to introduce the revamped version of the ACFCQ Web site. Although it was developed to meet the specific needs of adults with cystic fibrosis (CF) in Quebec, we hope that the site becomes a source of information and inspiration to people around the world who are concerned with the psychosocial and medical realities of adults with CF.

Welcome all!

CPAFK Express 30

Over the past few weeks, many adults with cystic fibrosis in Quebec have asked the Adult CF Committee of Quebec (ACFCQ) for information on influenza A (H1N1). We collected the questions and submitted them to internationally known infectious disease specialist and microbiologist Dr. Cécile Tremblay, who is also the Director of University of Montreal’s UHRESS (Unité hospitalière de recherche, d'enseignement et de soins sur le sida), asking if she would help adults with cystic fibrosis in Quebec and their caregivers understand the issues related to influenza A (H1N1). We would like to thank Dr. Tremblay on behalf of the ACFCQ for having generously agreed to our request. We would like to specify that this document was produced on October 14, 2009.

In 2003, the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Committee of Quebec conducted a study to map out the socio-economic profile of the adult cystic fibrosis population of Quebec.

You can view some of the study’s findings on the poster presented at the 27th European Cystic Fibrosis Conference held in Birmingham, UK, in 2004. Click here.
